Skills & Education
Educational and professional certifications include Bachelor of Science (BS), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA; currently inactive), Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO certified instructor, Certified Project Manager (CPM), Certified CRM Specialist (CCRMS), Certified Sales Process Engineer (CSPE) and several technical certifications that really don't mean much anymore. Over the last 20 years I've been trained and/or certified on 12 commercial CRM and ERP systems - and achieved the invaluable learning experiences by implementing each of them (usually several times). I think the business application systems I learned the most from were Siebel, SAP, Oracle Financials and Great Plains.
The two professional associations that I enjoy the most are the FBI Infragard and the Malcolm Baldrige Board of Examiners. They both consume significant time, however, these are two professional groups where the time investment is returned multiple times over in the form of learning and outstanding relationships.

Interests
Cool businesses, working with smart people, creating relationships with interesting people, working out and everything ocean related - scuba, boating, island hopping. My favorite boating destinations are Abaco, Eleutheras and Islamorada. Occasionally just for fun I enjoy a quick day trip to Bimini (home of Atlantis, the Fountain of Youth and various other strange tales) or Key West (every strange tale about Key West is probably (mostly) true). Being a former Marine, I'm also interested in military history and military strategies.

Favorite book: Good To Great by Jim Collins.
Favorite band: AeroSmith (favorite album is Toys in the Atic).
Favorite movie: Either Animal House or Pulp Fiction.
Favorite nonwork pastime: Reading, working out and hanging out with family.
Favorite vice: Can't say.
Business philosophy: Naysayers motivate me most. You can learn something from everybody. You can choose to be successful or not.
Favorite thing about aplicor: Working with really smart people.
Dream dinner table guests: Assuming being alive isn't a prerequisite, it would definitely be Jimi Hendrix, George McArthur, Jim Morrison, Angus Young, Ronald Reagon, Janice Joplin, Genghis Khan, Larry Ellison, Milton Friedman, George Thorogood and my wife Kathy. |
