What is RSS?

Subscribing to the Aplicor blog
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary and is the technical format which enables web site feeds. RSS helps web site visitors manage and organize web sites and blogs without having to repeatedly navigate to each individual site or grow your email inbox. Instead you may streamline your acquisition of new content by subscribing to the content you want and consolidating the information to in one place to be reviewed when you are ready.
Aplicor uses the universally accepted feed icon as well as several ‘chicklets’ for syndication and user subscription for the blog and podcasts. Our RSS feeds present content in an XML format so that you can subscribe and read, listen or watch using your feed reader.
How to setup your subscription feed
To subscribe to this blog or any other blog, you can choose among many different ‘news aggregators’ (for text blogs) or ‘podcatchers’ (for podcasts). Some of the most popular feed readers include:
- NewsGator – FeedDemon (Windows operating system)
- NewsGator – Inbox for Microsoft Outlook
- Firefox (via its Live Booksmarks function)
Alternatively, perform a web search on “news aggregators” and you will find hundreds of free and commercial products to choose from.
